As the preeminent institution devoted to the art of the United States, the Whitney Museum of American Art presents the full range of twentieth-century and contemporary American art, with a special focus on works by living artists. “Glenn Ligon: America” (through June 5th, 2011); “Singular Visions” (ongoing) “Dianna Molzan” Bologna Meissen” (from April 8th, 2011); “Breaking Ground: The Whitney’s Founding Collection” (through September 18th, 2011)

Admission: $18 adults; $12 senior & students; free under 18; pay-what-you-wish on Fridays, 6pm-9pm
