Rubin Chapelle featuring the artist Gregory Coates in a solo exhibition. Gregory Coates has created an expansive body of work that has included large scale sculpture, paintings and installations. Operating within a realm of contradictions between painting and sculpture, intention and meaning, the geometric and the organic, chaos and order.
Mr. Coates created a dynamic limited edition of furniture pieces following his signature use of such materials as plastic tubing, feathers and cardboard. His work is part public and private collections such as Microsoft, Inc; Phillip Morris Corporation; The coca Cola Company; Studio Museum in Harlem.
